Surfer Keelan Veitch
Background on Keelan:
I'm Keelan Veitch, I've lived in Jannali my whole life but grew
up surfing Cronulla every day since I was young. I started surfing
at about 10 but I was in the water along time before that with
nippers and swimming. My old boy was the reason I started surfing,
I think I just wanted to do everything he did. Ive got a
girlfriend, Nicol Nicholas, who I've been with for the last 4
years. She's an amazing person who I love to death, I've got her
name tattooed on my hip. I've got two sisters, Natahnee 24 and
Heidi 37 who also has two kids, Jade 16 and Harley 17. My Mum Carie
Lynn Rao Veitch, grow up in Caringbah and my Dad, Phillip Alex
Veitch grow up in Lilli Pilli. They got married in their teens and
have been together ever since. There you go - a bit of background
about me.

Height: I don't know, I'm small. I'm 22 and still fit a kids
size 14 wettie.
Weight: 55 to 60 kg's
Hometown: Jannali, NSW
Favorite Surfing Spot: Cronulla Alley rip bowl 5 years ago,
Rocky Point Hawaii, Voodoo, any fun left will do me fine.
Years Surfing: about 10 to 11.
Started surfing for Wing: 2009
THE OTHER STUFF
Favorite Wing wettie: A short arm Evo, they are flexible and
nice and light. They stand out. You can see Wing riders a mile
away, which is good. And you can pick the colour which is cool.
Other Sponsers: Reef and Jackson Surfboards supply my boards as
well as Gunther Rohn surfboards.
Out of the water: I've got a full time job so that takes up a
bit of time, and hanging out with my girlfriend. I try to stay in
the water as much as I can. After work, and the weekends, the rest
of my time is for Nicol.
Favorite Moves: Anything I can land. Nah anything that feels
good when you do it and make it. I love doing laybacks of the
foam.
Favorite food: There are so many to name... bacon and eggs rolls
with bbq sause and a can of coke. Can't beat that.
Favorite Quote: I don't know any... Float like a butterfly sting
like a bee, Ali. That’s a cool one. Peace begins with a smile,
Mother Teresa. There the only two I know.
Favorite Music: Rap
Dislikes: I try not to dislike anything but I hate working &
working overtime
Results: I've travelled overseas a bit with Billabong and around
Australia. I was in the top 10 kids in Australia in the Under
16s.
Heroes: My Parents. Kirk Flintoff - he's so underrated and
deserves so much more acknowledgement then what he has got. He made
the WCT. He's the only surfer who has represented Cronulla for a
very long time and he surfs amazing. Have you seen his airs and how
quick and exciting his backhand is to watch? Andy Irons, Bobby
Martinez. My girl, she makes me happy.
Occupation: I'm in my 3rd year of a 4 year electrician
apprenticeship and work for a company called Ski Electrical
Services. My boss lives next door. I went St Pat's College at
Sutherland and Jannali East Primary School. I worked at Jacko's for
about a year full time polishing boards and fixing dings.
Goals: Live life to the fullest, have fun, find an easier way to
make money. The Pro surfer dream has come back after I had a couple
of years off surfing. Working has made me want it more then ever as
well. I've got a list of things I want to do...
